If Chanel were to make a scooter helmet, what would it look like?  Well, exactly what one would think.

For Karl Lagerfeld’s 2009 collection, the most vital part of scooter attire comes encrusted with pearls and gems, covered in tweed and mink.  To pull this off, Lagerfeld collaborated with luxury French helmet-maker Les Ateliers Ruby as well as Apple.  Each helmet is complete with full carbon-fiber shells, extremely-soft nappa-lambskin linings, and even a place to put and hookup your iPod.   Les Ateliers Ruby made only twelve of the couture helmets, which are now available in select stores, just in time for the holidays.  If you’re Anna Wintour, NY Magazine says you can find them at Colette in Paris and at other specialty retailers, retailing between $1,805 and $6,837.
