My mom dropped by my apartment tonight to drop some things off after a day of shopping before her big trip. She takes off for the Philippine Islands for a month with her sisters and I couldn’t be any more jealous. Remember when you were little and thinking no one was cooler than Dad and no one was prettier than Mom? I still feel that way.
Basically what my mom wore tonight. I could take some tips from her.

A high fashion look you can get away with for every day wear. Marni has really great pieces— lots of solid colors and standout accessories. This look is simple enough that suspenders, berets, and even embellished socks more than just work. Love this bag as well.

For all you photogs out there, Leica unveiled its latest limited edition luxury camera last week and while the price point should warrant some debate, it is undeniably gorgeous. The M7 Edition “Hermes” is a limited release of Leica’s classic 35mm rangefinder system camera. Though at the end of the day, this means you can get a manual camera with a really nice lens (film not included) for £8,550 (roughly $14,300), keep in mind that you’d also be paying for two of the biggest names in the photography and high-luxe fashion realms. Leica and Paris-based design house Hermes have limited the collection to 200 cameras (100 each in orange and etoupe) and cameras will be numbered in sequence. While there are small details that make this model unique, it otherwise operates as your standard M7.
If you’re actually contemplating on purchasing one (eek), the cameras will be available in the U.K. beginning December 2009.

For those who haven’t seen this yet, here’s a peek at Gucci’s 2010 Spring/Summer women’s collection from Milan’s Fashion week back in September. Not too impressed by the angular cut-outs on some of these but I do appreciate the few splashes of color here and there- this is the spring/summer collection after all…

If Chanel were to make a scooter helmet, what would it look like? Well, exactly what one would think.

For Karl Lagerfeld’s 2009 collection, the most vital part of scooter attire comes encrusted with pearls and gems, covered in tweed and mink. To pull this off, Lagerfeld collaborated with luxury French helmet-maker Les Ateliers Ruby as well as Apple. Each helmet is complete with full carbon-fiber shells, extremely-soft nappa-lambskin linings, and even a place to put and hookup your iPod. Les Ateliers Ruby made only twelve of the couture helmets, which are now available in select stores, just in time for the holidays. If you’re Anna Wintour, NY Magazine says you can find them at Colette in Paris and at other specialty retailers, retailing between $1,805 and $6,837.
