Instead of a silk jumper with textured tights, try a textured jumper with your everyday tights.  Hue makes really great mid-calf socks that you can wear over your tights (scrunch up slightly so they poke out from beneath your boots).

Some of you have been asking about “layered looks” and how “J.Crew catalogues make it look so easy.”  Try this one on for size.  Layering is not terribly difficult at all- it actually does wonders by making you pay attention to items you already owned.  I especially love layered looks that are paired with leggings and chunky socks/leg warmers that poke out from beneath an ankle or mid-calf boot.  Throw in a bright color and a pattern here and there and you’ve already far surpassed the rest.
